The AGNES IRVING was a paddle steamer of 439 tons measuring 204 feet in length. She foundered trying to cross a bar at South West Rocks on the 27th December 1879. Today she sits upright on sand in 10 meters of water, the engine/boiler section being the highest part. The stern and bow areas are still visible.
Update 2017 Thanks to Andrew Cook
Agnes Irving is near the site of the old entrance south of Grassy Head not South West Rocks. Its will sit in the South west rocks region for now on the website.
